- Abstract:
- Sunrise and sunset zones, as depicted and described in the Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks annual hunting regulations booklets. Sunrse and sunset zones were created to be coincident with select Montana Counties Boundaries.
- Purpose:
- To inform hunters of legal shooting hours for their specific location within four separate zones of the state. These zones determine the legal hours for hunting big game, waterfowl, and upland game birds in Montana.

Data Quality Information:- Lineage:
- Process step:
- Sunrise and Sunset Zone boundaries were digitized by selecting a group of Montana County boundaries as described in the 2014 Deer, Elk, Antelope Hunting Regulations for Montana. Counties within each zone were dissolved to create a zone. Each of the four zones were then merged together to create the final layer, attributes were added and populated.
